Evil Dead – Dead by Dawn

I think the first name of a horror movie that is mentioned to us when we grow up is none other then Evil Dead. It is a 1981 horror movie of America. The movie was written and directed by Sam Raimi. The movie had the star cast as Bruce Campbell, Ellen Sand weiss and Betsy Baker. The main story of this movie revolves around the plot which has got five friend on a vacation. They go to a wooden area to enjoy but they are unaware that their life will turn out a hell from that point. These friends find an audio tape along with a book.

Even after the warning they play the tape and read that book and so bingo! The evil spirits are released. Their girl friends turn into wiches one by one. In comparison of today's horror flicks, Evil Dead seems more like a comedy then a horror movie with all that gaudy make up of ghosts and the same old pattern of turning the eyes red or white.

The movie was extremely controversial for its graphic terror, violence and gore, being initially turned down by almost all the film distributors of America. Finally a European company bought this movie in the Cannes Film Festival. The film did a great business on box office after it's first release. The sequels to this movie were also made. The movie has now got a cult following.
