The Sorcerer's Apprentice

The Sorcerer's Apprentice was released on July 16 2010, it's genre is Sci-fi. The movie is directed by Jon Turtleltaub and the starcast is Jay Baruchel, Nicholas Cage, Teresa Palmer, Alfred Molina and Monica Bellucci. The duration of the movie is 1 hour 50 minutes. The movie's main attraction is Nicholas Cage( a good wizard), it creates wonder. The Sorcerer's Apprentice portrays triumph of good over evil.


Story-Merlin is the most famous wizard of all wizard fraternity, he has good as well as bad followers.For almost 1,400 years they have been playing around on Terra Ferma. The twist comes, when the game becomes destructive. A good wizard Balthazar(Nicholas Cage) has to save the world from bad wizard Horvath (Alfred Molina). He has to find a new age mMessiah who helps him to save the world from the wicked trenches of bad wizard.

The characters of this movie are quite impressive. Horvath (Alfred Molina) seems to be having so much fun playing the role of bad wizard and Jay Baruchel (a nerdy New York student) ticks with his sleepy super-hero act. Over all,The Sorcerer's Apprentice is one time watch movie . Ratings 3/5.

Inception

A Sci-Fi thriller, directed, produced and written by Christopher Nolan. Inception was released on 16 July 2010. Leonardo Di Caprio is playing the lead role, supporting cast is Tom Hardy, Marion Cotillard, KenWatanabe, Tom Berenger, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Cillian Murphy, Ellen Page, Dileep Rao and Michael Caine. Inception is a mind boggler having many levels of reality, too many innovative ideas with too many things happening.


This Sci-Fi thriller will leave you tantalised,tortured, ticklish and tormented with its mindplay. In the movie, Dom Cobb(Leonardo Di Caprio) has a special ability to steal the dreams from any person's subconscious during his dream state. His outstanding ability put him in the state which costs him everything which he has loved. Now he is offered a last job which could get him life back, but this time he has to do just reverse of what he does before.Instead of stealing any idea from a victim's dream he has to implant a new one.

Leonardo Di Caprio justifies his role, he walks into people's heads . Ellen Page is very good and so is Marion Cotillard in the very few scenes that she gets.
The movie involves the intellect while at the same time not ignoring the visceral. The special effects of this movie are outstanding,these kind of special effects are rare occurrence these days. Inception really tantalises, ratings 4/5.

The Wolfman(2010)

The Wolfman(2010) is a classic horror flick, Directed by Joe Johnston. Starring-Anthony Hopkins, Benicio Del Toro, Hugo Weaving , Emily Blunt and the music is given by Danny Elfman. The movie is based on 1941's superhit horror film 'The Wolfman'. It is made with great technical brilliance . It revisits the story of the scary werewolf who is hungry for human flesh.


The Wolfman(2010) is filled with the essential elements of thrill like the blood-thirsty beast, the mysterious forest, the sinister father and the heavy fog. They are quite enough to scare folks. In order to scare people more, Director Joe Johnston has over emphasised the violence and bloodshed. Over bloodshed and gore has made the werewolf repulsive rather being scary.

The Wolfman(2010) is stylishly made, family bonds and ties form crucial part of the storyline. There are some long drawn drama sequences that could leave more impact, if not dragged. If the director would have had given more time to the romance between Lawrence and his brother's girl and less to the bloodshed then it would have added substance to the movie..Well don't expect a substance in a horror flick! If you like thrills, dark woods and mysterious forests then The Wolfman(2010) is just for you! Ratings 5/5.

The Lovely Bones

The Lovely Bones is a screen adaptation of Alice Sebold's best selling novel.The movie is directed by Peter Jackson ( director of the Lord of the Rings). Saoirse Ronan is playing the lead role, portraying playful and solemn shades simultaneously.

Jackson has done great work on screenplay with Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens. The Lovely Bones is all about the story of a life and everything that came after… The story is dark, a 14 year old girl was raped and murdered by her brutal neighbour. While resting in heaven, she tries to come to the terms with what has happened to her ? ( she has been murdered and raped). The Lovely Bones is a movie in which a teenage girl narrates her doubts, whimsical thoughts and fantasies after the life.

The visuals are good, director has taken visual inspiration from variety of sources like screen savers for tofu collectives, an album covers famous Hipgnosis designs, dragons and dungeons. His excessive reliance on voiceovers is making the movie a speech.Overall, The Lovely Bones is a blend of super-cheesy paranormal melodrama and standard-issue murder mystery. The ratings are 2/5.

'Knight and Day'

'Knight and Day', is Directed by James Mangold , it is a new action romantic adventure starring 'Cameron Diaz and Tom Cruise . The movie is getting mixed reviews. It has all the components of a perfect romantic thriller. To grab your hold, 'Knight and Day' has gorgeous international locations,a string of high-octane action scenes and a sexy lead pair.


The strength of the movie is Tom Cruise, he has regained his old form. Knight and Day” was hyped in the media because Tom Cruise was coming back in his original form-'action'. He has shown his great skills and commitment.Cameron Diaz is charming. But the leads have no sexual chemistry, though there is a genuine comic pulse. It lacks romantic energy. 'Knight and Day' is arranged in hysterical rhythm.

Tom Cruise is playing the role of super-slick CIA agent Roy Miller and Cameron Diaz is June Havens. As far as the script of the movie is concerned, it lacks breezy wit. If you like stunt, then 'Knight and Day' has a thrilling car-chase sequence in which Cruise leaps across the top of many cars. It's action scenes are excellent.
Overall 'Knight and Day' is a kind of film that you can watch one time.The ratings are 2 / 5.

The Losers

'The Losers' is Directed by Sylvain White, StarCast-, Zoe Saldana, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Chris Evans, Jason Patric and Idris Elba. Duration - 1 hour 37 minutes and Genre is action. The Losers opens up with an explosive sequence, features the rescue of the kids by the heroes.


A Bolivian drug lord was using them as mules. The Heroes of Elite Special forces manage to save the children from the trenches of don. Their joy turned into sorrow when they see their helicopter has destroyed with its precious cargo. The heroes left helpless stranding without any identity, they fight back as 'The Losers'. A beautiful stranger , Aisha (Zoe Saldana), comes for their help. But she has a condition, she wants Max (the don) back.

No problem for ' The Losers', they agree to get the don back . They emerge from coffins flown into Miami and commenced their plan for revenge. The Losers is a pure action drama with so many twists and turns, the director has given unexpected, imaginative and innovative thrills, there is never a single dull moment in the film. 'The Losers' is a movie not to be missed.
